French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Nice on Sunday 14 June to inaugurate Bharat Innovates 2026, a major showcase of Indian innovation being held in the city until Tuesday.

The event, hosted at Nice’s Exhibition Centre, will bring together 120 start-ups alongside universities and research laboratories.
Organised annually by India’s Ministry of Education, this marks the first time the exhibition has been staged outside India.
The visit highlights the strengthening strategic partnership between France and India, with both countries seeking closer cooperation in defence, investment and technological innovation.
The two governments have designated 2026 as the “France–India Year of Innovation”.
Following the opening ceremony and a tour of exhibitors, Mr Macron and Mr Modi are expected to travel to Beaulieu-sur-Mer for bilateral talks at the Villa Kérylos before heading to the G7 summit in Évian, which begins on Monday.
Mr Modi is attending the summit at the invitation of the French President, underscoring India’s growing role in international affairs and its deepening ties with France.
